    Thread Rules
    1. Adhere to the site rules as stated here: Site Rules
    2. Replies do not need to be extremely long. Instead, keep them condensed and avoid fluff and useless information. Posts can even be one or two sentences long if there isn't anything a character would do or say. There's nothing wrong with this if it happens occasionally.
    3. Keep extremely short 2-3 sentence replies to a minimum. If this is repeated, you've done something wrong with your character. Social interactions are going to be strong in this thread.
    4. Posting Headers/Images are allowed as long as they're not massive. Keep the height under 600 and the width under 800.
    5. It is possible for this thread to anchor off from normal humans and characters gaining power. Until this is done in thread or permission is given later, this is not to be done.

    The New World

Yes, I'm keeping to our current Non-Fandom Thread Titles...

The World: Earth is a wasteland. Years of pollution and war left the planet in ruin. The air was toxic, the water was worse. Crops would not grow and animals did not live long enough to provide enough food. The population slowly dwindled down to a mere 2% of what it once was. During the years that the human race began to fall, a massive ship called The Redemption was constructed. It was created with the purpose of saving the human race by transporting them to Kepler-186F, now called Asylum. Though there have been no test runs and no confirmations of this planet being habitable for humans, with the deterioration of Earth, it seemed to be the only choice.

One hundred thousand people were sent on The Redemption. Only a quarter of the population on The Redemption were adults: age fifteen and higher. The rest were young, many too young to understand their future obligations. This small group of people were chosen based off of health, genetics, and age. Anyone over the age of thirty was not eligible and all eligible adults had to pass a rigorous training camp to be accepted. Once accepted for this, they were frozen in cryo-sleep to await their landing on the newly named planet Asylum.

It took one hundred years to find a full one hundred thousand people to go on this trip. The years in which one may be chosen and frozen are: 2175-2275. Launch date: May 4th of 2276.

Current Setting: Your character should be between the age of 5-28. Because of the very low and dying population, laws were quickly changed to make the adult age 15 to allow younger people to reproduce and keep the population up. Abortion was quickly made illegal, though rape became an offense punishable by immediate death. You have no idea where you are or how long it's been since you were originally frozen. You've woken up with three other people in the room with you. It's dark and your only source of light is from a small window the size of a football. The other cryo-beds are either empty or still housing sleeping individuals. The air is thinner than before and you could feel how much cleaner it is with every breath you take, but that still makes it difficult since it's not what you're used to. After a few moments between you and the others, a door opens...

The New World: A Human Migration

Launch Date: May 4th of 2276
    Current Date: Unknown
    Location: Unknown; Assumed Asylum

The air is cold and the room is dark. The beds of slowly waking people open up, allowing the first breaths of new and clean air. The pollution of earth has left the lungs of most stiff, so this clean air is difficult to breathe, but feels so much better with each inhale. It is as if your body is slowly undergoing a cleansing alteration. A single light shines through a small football sized window, illuminating very little of the room; the only window in the room. The only people awake in this room are you and another four. The others are still asleep or locked in their beds.

The first of those is a child around the age of seven. She holds a light blanket to her, the one she slept with, and is rubbing her eyes. She sniffles and looks around, whimpering slightly as it is too dark for her to see or understand what's going on. The second is a very fit man in his mid twenties. He holds a scowl on his face, but it doesn't hold as he lightly taps the child on her shoulder and begins to comfort her in his deep bellowing voice, "Do not cry, little girl. We have finally arrived in Asylum. All is well." The last of the currently awakened is a woman around the age of nineteen. She stands fully awake in the small beam of light that comes through the football shaped window, allowing a clearer picture of her face. Her vibrant red hair gives her a fiery demeanor, while her mystical blue eyes are illuminated by the light that shines through. She is the only one who seems to have been awake for longer than a couple minutes. She ignores the rest in the room, excluding a momentary glance to the child.

Within moments there is a loud click with what sounds like the quick releasing of pressure, like air from a bike tire. A door slides open and locks into place, but no light comes through. Metal hitting against metal, a person in a large full-body suit steps into the room and looks around at those who are awake. The person steps over and reaches out to a switch and flicks it to the side. The room lights up brightly, causing the child, man, and red headed woman to flinch and shut their eyes so they can adjust. "Sorry about that. It takes a while for the eyes to adjust to the light after such a long sleep." A man's voice calls out through the mask as he pulls his helmet off. His appearance was very odd: the white hair and purple eyes were not normal at all, even after the problems people had on earth.

The man smiles kindly and laughs a bit, rubbing the back of his head shyly. "Welcome to Asylum. Now, before you left Earth, you should have been briefed about your landing here... You are to report to Administration and you will each be given a job. The people here, since you were housed with them..." he points around the room, "Are likely going to be the ones you work with. Didn't find out till after we woke that they categorized us that way... You were woken when your skills were needed, from what I understand." It was then that he noticed the child and a very confused expression was shone for a moment. He cleared his throat and looked away. "Well, uh... Come on. I'll get you guys where you need to be, at least..." He went over to the door and stepped out, waiting for the rest of you to follow.

It wasn't like waking up from a nice sleep. Waking up now had that cold sterility of being brought out of anesthetics after a surgery. It wasn't pleasant. At least there wasn't an alarm. Raymond would have to scold Amaran—Ah, that's right. She wasn't here anymore. Raymond didn't immediately rise out of his cold bed though—bad habits died hard, especially when Amaranta wasn't there to scold him out of it. Blasted maid didn't know her place.

Raymond yawned loudly as he finally decided it was time to get out of bed. He stood at about five-foot-seven, and he immediately slid his hair back. He noticed that the tips actually had little icicles on them. He grunted in annoyance as he knocked them free. So that was why they didn't want us to have hair gel. As he stood, he gladly took in the clean air. He coughed a few times, but it wasn't so bad. He was rich back on earth—and he could enjoy having a cleaner-than-normal home.

"Didn' think I'd see you all so soon," Raymond said. He hadn't actually met any of them before, but he had made sure to get a look into each of the cyro-beds before crawling in his own. His accent spoke of high society, of where balls and galas would take place if the world had not been in such a horrendous state. Raymond stretched again, and then turned around. There was a black, wooden case that would have been between his legs when he was a sleep. He grabbed the handle, and almost immediately regretted it. His hand was stuck to it, much like how a tongue stuck to a metal pole in winter.

He didn't let his worry show. The bright light caused him to let out a short string of curses, but thankfully nothing too scarring for the young lass's ear. Raymond was very confused about the white-haired kid (though he probably was older than Raymond), but figured it was some fashion trend he didn't care enough about. Hair dyeing was so 2262. Raymond motioned for the women in the room to go first. "Ladies firs'." Raymond did, however, make sure that he was walking next behind them.

    Emma Walker: Tech Junkie

It had felt like an eternity ever since Emma walker spent time on planet earth. Her memory only blessed her with three important moments, saying goodbye to her father, packing her most important items in a small compact bag, and taking a rather unpleasant breath of the old earth's air before entering cryo-sleep, so to speak.  She had always watched a movie or two involving this sort of thing but never in her wildest imagination did she ever think she would experience it.

It felt different from actual sleep. She couldn't explain why but it just did.

Perhaps it was the fact that in the moment she would open her eyes, she would no longer be staring at a earth ruined by pollution but the new planet, asylum.

Perhaps it was the fact that she would never potentially see her father again, to say nothing of keeping in contact with him. They didn't really explain how that would work, she was chosen, and though she protested mightily, her father told her that life would be better here.

Perhaps... it was the fact that she had to come to terms with such facts, hoping that she would make herself and whatever family she remembered from earth proud.  It was a lot to take in but man, not nearly as much as waking up to the noises of other people.  That frightened the living hell out of her.

Her eyes opened slowly,  as her cryo-bed opened allowing her to move around, albeit in slow, lethargic movements.  And the air hit her hard... it was refreshing but unpleasant... in a word, weird. Nothing should be unpleasant and refreshing at the same time but what the hell, she figured as she coughed a few times and before long, she was gradually becoming accustomed to this new air.

Emma gripped around, touching the items she had brought with her first as her eyes opened completely, almost in an alert manner, as one does when they're reminded of an important matter they must attend to.  She had her trusty wrench, a music player she had created for herself from materials of other(guess what?) music players, filled with nearly every manner of music as she was not a picky eater... well it didn't have country.  Country could burn in hell, she muttered, remembering how her cousins would tease her with it by playing it throughout the house, and loud, too!

A few other tools she enjoyed using and were small enough to fit inside this bed, and a diary.  She didn't know what items would be available here, if any, so she tried to think of items that could fit in the bed before she got in. She had way more at the entrance, but picked what she knew she wanted the most.  And with that, she picked up the bag housing her items, and took a long stretch to get her body in the best shape it could muster.

She shook her hair quickly, partly to remove her hair of any remaining ice particles that got stuck inside her braids and turned to see the others.  Appearance-wise? Let's just say they all seemed...interesting to say the least.

There was a little girl being comforted by a tall, imposing man. A red head with a blue-eyed gaze that was fierce and a man who was shorter than the other, who seemed regal in his aura and had stylish hair to boot.  And lastly, one more individual entered the room, taking off his helmet, and his appearance was the most unusual of all, though she couldn't quite make out his appearance because the bright light affected her vision momentarily, causing her to grunt slightly as she too, closed her eyes for a few seconds. Ack, another unpleasant feeling.

She did hear what he was saying however, acknowledging it with a somewhat neutral expression.  She blinked her eyes a few more times, taking in the appearances of everyone present, as if to imprint each and every one of them into her mind.

She did not particularly take the news with happiness nor displeasure, but rather a  quiet acceptance, in the form of a nod.  She had hoped these people would be pleasant and friendly. Otherwise, her time here was going to be a pain in the ass. She walked towards the door to follow the white-haired man along with everyone else.

The New World: A Human Migration

Launch Date: May 4th of 2276
    Current Date: Unknown
    Location: Asylum

"The name's Jake, by the way." The white haired male led the group down a few hallways. The area was dark and a lot of the rooms were sealed off. There was a smell of hot metal and the sounds of cracking electricity  from random hallways, but it always seemed to radiate from the same direction. Jake leads everyone to a large metal door and unlocks it with a numbered passcode, but doesn't try and hide it: 95467. The door slides open and he holds his arm out. "Here you are. Please go in." Once everyone is in, he steps in behind you all and sits down in a chair off to the side, but his happy demeanor immediately fades and he looks to the floor.

The office is bare, filled with very little more than a large desk that seems to be melded into the floor. The room is light, one of the few areas that actually have a light on. There is another person in the room, a woman. She is sitting on the desk as if she is waiting for you and looks over each of you quietly. She looks exhausted with the dark circles under her eyes and her clothes looks almost thrown together. "My name is Victoria." she speaks up after a few moments, her voice low and drained, "You've woken up on Asylum. Welcome." There is a moment of silence as Victoria seems to ponder what to say next. After a while, she sighs and looks to the floor.

"You were in..." "Cell 25A." "Ah. Okay." Victoria walked over to the desk and pulled out a few files. She looked between them and you for a few moments. "Emma, Raymond, Damien, Breanna, and Scarlett." A chuckle was heard from Jake at the name Scarlett and he was quickly motioned over to see the file. They both looked back and forth between the red haired woman and the file and then to each other. "I wonder if she'll like that change..." Jake asked, only to be hit upside the head by Victoria. "To your seat." she said and Jake whined all the way back. Victoria cleared her throat and put her hands on the desk, leaning forward to look at the rest. "Each of you take a look at yourselves... There's a mirror behind you." Scarlett was the first to turn. She froze. Breanna turned just after and stuck her face on the mirror in awe. Damien hesitated and then looked as well, but didn't react much.

"We don't know how it happened or what it may mean. No scientist as woken up, but a lot of people have undergone physical changes... Such as Scarlett; Your hair was previously brown, was it not?" Scarlett grabbed onto her hair with each hand and glared angrily at the mirror. "My eyes were brown as well..." she spoke quietly. "So were mine!" Breanna smiled and laughed, "They're so pretty now! Dontcha think?" Breanna tugged on Damien's arm and he looked to her. "Yeah." he said with a soft smile and a nod. Breanna smiled. "Some people have hard darker skin... Our hair turned white." Jake stood again and pointed to himself and Victoria. "My eyes were also green." Victoria added, "It's something to get used to, but a lot of people like their changes."

The smell worried Ray. Ships weren't supposed to sound and smell like that. Right? Right. But whatever was wrong with the ship would have to wait. The case was still stuck to his hand. It was cold in the ship. Not as cold as a cryo-bed, but it was still pretty cold. Raymond might have also been the only one that didn't catch the passcode. It wasn't the focus of his attention. He had other assets in his field of view.

As the group entered the room, Raymond stopped briefly. So far—besides the little girl—the women on the ship seemed to be only of the prettiest caliber. And even the little girl seemed the type to grow into a fine young lady. Unfortunately, he didn't have his father's influence (nor his own) here. He'd have to use his own wits and guile to win any (or hopefully all) of the women over.

Raymond was the last to look in the mirror. He look distraught, bringing both hands—case included—to his head. He ran his fingers through his stiff hair. "Oh, bloody hell... my hair dye, wasted." Indeed, Raymond had dyed his hair platinum blond only a week before the trip. It was meant to be a long-term dye, so either that was one of the physical changes or it had been much longer than initially thought. But then he noticed something, sighed, and shrugged. "At leas' my eyes look cooler now." Indeed, his eyes were once blue. Now, they were a fiery orange with a sunny yellow undertone. The best part about his eyes is that their colors danced—almost like two liquids that could not mix spinning about.

Raymond turned around to face Victoria. "Jakeyboy over there said we were coming here for a job. What's ours?"

    Emma Walker: Tech Junkie

Traversing the hallways with her fellow companions, Emma kept a safe distance from everyone else but the silver-haired man, who has introduced himself as "Jake."  There was so much her brain was still proccessing, so remaining silent until spoken to would be the strategy of choice for now.  The group of individuals entered what seemed to be an office which made Emma raise an eyebrow.   She hadn'y stepped inside an office in years, were they always this big? She wondered with awe.

There was another person besides Jake who happened to be sitting at a desk full of paperwork.  "She seem like under the right circumstance, she'd be a gorgeous bombshell of a woman but in this settin'? She looks grumpier than one of papa's ole' house cats," Emma thought to herself with a small chuckle as she watched the woman introduce herself as Victoria.

Victoria walked over to grab her files, returned back to her original spot, stared at them for a few seconds and then, announced their names.  She had to be perfectly honest, though, hearing Cell25A out of jake's mouth made her feel a tad' nervous, though she didn't place too much focus on it.

After announcing the names of everyone, Emma included,  Victoria seemed upset with Jake, as she ordered him back to his seat,  but all Emma could think of while staring at the two,  specifically Victora, was that "grumpy cat expression" of hers which caused her to chuckle to herself whilst standing besides the other individuals.

Focusing her attention on them once more, she told them to---take a look at the mirror behind themselves.  Emma blinked a few times before following her orders, turning around to see her face.  She rubbed her cheeks, patted her body,  nothing seemed out of the ordinary'... until she noticed a pair of amethyst-colored eyes staring back at her.   "What type of mirrors are these?" She asked, clearly unable to comprehend that her eye color had changed permanently.

Miss victoria confirmed that such was the case, as she told them that during transportation, people had experienced changes in their hair, skin, and eyes. Emma knew she was naturally brown-skinned, so no surprise there.  But these eyes.... were in a word, mesmerizing.

She felt so special, giddy even at the change, even though everyone had experienced it in some such manner. "So cool..." said Emma with awe as she continued to admire her spellbinding gaze.

She decided to look at the others who seemed to be impressed as well... except for the redhead. Her expression seemed menacing, so unlike everyone else.  Her stare was the type that if looks could kill, everyone in the room would've easily been dead.  She knew out of everyone that this fierce woman would be the most difficult to connect with.

"There is nothing wrong with those mirrors. What you see is what you are now. As I said, we don't know what caused the changes, yet, but we're hoping someone will wake up that has the knowledge and skill to help us find out." Victoria explained, amused by all of their actions, especially the youngest member. "I'm glad you enjoy the changes; We haven't found anyone that doesn't." "Until now." Scarlett crossed her arms, "I've hated my name from the beginning. Now I get to deal with all the red hair comments. This is bullshit." The little on, Breanna, giggles at the older one's irritation and hid behind Damien when Scarlett immediately glared at the young girl.

"Right... Your jobs... Well, we don't know..." Victoria shrugged and sighed, "You see... The Redemption did not have the safest of landings. Not everyone survived and when we started waking up, we realized a lot of the information and people, including the original Captain and his main crew, had been killed. We've all been doing a lot of guess work... You know how over one hundred thousand people came on this ship? Well so far a little under five hundred have survived... You are among the last to wake. Whatever happened here... We can consider ourselves lucky and the mission to save the human race... it's even more difficult now." Victoria let that sink in a bit, watching their reactions.

"We're sorry you had to find out like this... We try to keep the original waking some what similar to what is expected normally..." Jake spoke up with a sigh, "We have a small camp. The air is breathable, which is lucky since those on Earth didn't know... And we'll get you settled in to some place... Most people who wake up together end up sticking together, so we'll give you all one big tent.." "It's something you're going to have to deal with until we're able to expand more." "Tents?" "Yes, most of them are makeshift. When you make it outside you'll understand..." Victoria motioned for Jake to take them all out. "Alright... You ready to see your new home?" he asked, though was a little sarcastic about it.

Ray's case finally dropped in the middle of the conversation. Normally, he'd be happy to have freedom with his hand. Not right now. His eyes widened in shock. "What... the bloody 'ell happened? Was... was 'at what the smell was?" Raymond looked around nervously, wondering if the ship would collapse. They did still collapse, right? Right.

Raymond's breathing increased as they continued to speak. He began muttering under his breath, and began to back away. "You're jokin', right? The real crew's gonna bust through a door with a sign sayin' 'fooled ya,' right?" It didn't take anyone saying anything for him to get that answer. No, it wasn't a joke. And if the crew jumped out now, then he was on the wrong planet and needed to get a baseball bat.

"I guess at least... We know?" Raymond was very distressed at the thought. He hadn't actually been involved in so much death before. He hadn't been around it at all besides elderly family members crapping out on him. He reached over and hesitantly picked up the case. He tested to see if he could let go. He could, so he relaxed a little. "Well, I don't see the harm in seein' our new place..." A thought occurred to him. "Oi', Jakeyboy. It a co-ed tent?"

    Emma Walker: Tech Junkie

To say that Emma felt highly unpleasant with what Victoria just explained to the group was a severe understatement.  Did she react as Raymond did? Almost. What was once an expression of awe in her caramel-colored cheeks, now seemed to be little more than fear and worry.  "I should've known something about the way ya  were explainin things felt spooky and unusual.  Never in so many moons would I had expected' we'd be thrown into somethin like this! Really, with pretty boy over there and his quick anxiety attack, I'm shakin' in my pants over here, too. "

Emma always seemed to speak comically even if her expression nor body language showed it.  Her cadence did seem to lend itself more to the old-fashioned african-american women of the seventies, you know, the one from those famous sitcom tv shows.  Part of it, she supposed, came from her father. She could still speak normal enough to be taken seriously, though.

"Aye, Aye, Aye, aye, aye! Now I'm fidgety too! But... now that i'm realizin' it, ain't no use in crying over spoiled milk. " Turning her attention to Jake, gathering herself and clapping her hands together, she said, "Lead us to our new home, Jakey boy!'. "And like she had not heard anyting Victoria said(Even though it weighed heavily on her mind!) Emma was eager to see this tent.  She had thought she'd remain silent but her nature just wouldn't allow her to do so...

The New World: A Human Migration

Launch Date: May 4th of 2276
    Current Date: Unknown
    Location: Asylum

The first person to wake was Victoria and she still couldn't believe it. She was alone for some time before other people began waking up. She had assumed everyone else had died and was happy to have someone else on the planet. She explains that any records had been destroyed in the crash. Most weapons and a large portion of the ships food, water, and tools had also been destroyed. Much of the ship has not been explored since it's difficult to travel through and others do not have the courage to venture too deep into the wreckage. It's possible that people could still be asleep in deeper sections of the rubble with their rooms untouched and only buried beneath the metal, but to find them is both difficult, dangerous and likely not to bring about any positive result without the deaths of those involved.

The way out of the ship was difficult. Heavy wiring and pipes protruded out from the walls, floor and ceiling. Sparks fly randomly, so the electricity seems to be still running through damaged areas. Certain paths are completely blocked, while others are obviously harder to get through. The path the group takes is difficult, but the easiest of them all. Everyone is asked to watch their step and keep an eye on the little one as you travel through. It takes about ten minutes before reaching the outside. Luckily, the air is breathable out here as well. Along a dirt path, about a five minute walk away from the ship, a group of people looked like they were living their daily lives. Most of them looked normal while others had strange features: altered eyes, hair, taller, shorter, and wider than normal.

"This is our camp... It doesn't have a name, but it's where we live for now. Um... Your tent should be set up by now." Jake lead you farther in until you reached the very opposite side of the camp. The camp was made up of large tents, not many small ones. Most looked military and were large enough to fit up to ten people, just like the tent your group was lead to. "Alright. Home sweet home. Go ahead and fight over who gets what bed. Privacy ain't a thing yet, so I suggest you figure out alternate ways to relieving yourself." Jake said with a smug smirk and began walking away, "Good luck! I'll check up on you all in an hour or so." Breanna was the first inside and Damien followed behind her.

"This is where we're going to live?" Breanna asked Damien and he nodded. Breanna looked around, "So where do I get to sleep?" The tent is large enough to fit everyone. There is a trunk for each person that has a few items inside. There are changes of clothes, though some people's might not fit them. There are small bits of food: trail mix, dehydrated meals, and other non-perishables. Next to each trunk, much set up like the barracks in a military boot camp, is a small bed fit for one person to sleep comfortably. Each bed has different colored blankets and matching pillows so everyone could color code their stuff. Even the trunks had similar colors painted over the metal parts: Red, Purple, Green, Black, White, Blue, Orange, Pink, Yellow, and Brown. Scarlett was the last one to enter the room...

Raymond hit his head a grand total of six times on the way out of the ship. He even tripped over loose wiring twice. It was after his second time tripping that he decided not to stare at Scarlett and Emma's hypnotizingly beautiful asses. He had to gauge their "qualities" to see if they were up to the Lancaster name's quality when it came to the reproduction portion of the journey (the part he was looking most forward to). They were. Plus, they were just nice to look at.

Raymond stared and gawked at the strangest of the survivors. One person looked like everything about them was squared off. There was even another who could actually hide behind a thin light pole and not be seen. Raymond smiled to himself, thinking it was the 'Lancaster genetics" that kept him from being too far changed. Raymond was the next to last to enter, if only because he was too busy staring at a couple of very attractive women in the tent nearest to him. "Little one gets to pick 'er bed first," Raymond said with a smile and an actual hint of gentile decorum. "Best ta' let the little lady get comfortable first, right?"

Raymond's preference for the bed started with blue. If someone took that, then he'd claim the brown. If even that was taken, he'd go black, green, red, etc. The last one he wanted was the pink one. Raymond stowed his case tightly in the footlocker. "So, uh.. I guess we should get ta know one another?" He looked around to gauge their reactions. If they didn't seem completely turned off by the idea, Raymond would start to speak. "I guess... where were ya from on Earth? I'm from Liverpool."

    Emma Walker: Tech Junkie

Emma was not the most nimble of travelers when it came to going through junky areas and their departure from the ship was no different. She hadn't bumped her head or hurt herself in any way that felt uncomfortable, so that was a start. Emma was unaware of anything else, even a certain someone who might be staring at her "assets".

Once the group made it out of the ship, Emma breathed a sigh of relief as she stretched her arms to relax her body and get out any unneccesary kinks in her bones. Looking at the other survivors versus the ones in her group, Emma could see a total night/day difference.

Whereas her companions only had changed eyes and hair, the changes in other survivors were more physical, body-wise so to speak. Thankful that her body remained mostly the same, she followed Jake along with everyone else to what Jake called their "new homes." Basically, big ass tents, small beds, and small bits of food that Emma knew she definitely wasn't going to survive off of, but the trail-mix was a nice touch. She waited for the child to find her bed first, and as soon as she did so, she'd choose a random bed.

She didn't really favor any color... they were just colors after all, so who cared? As soon as she sat down, placed her bags off to the side, and grabbed a bag of trail-mix, Raymond presented an idea to the group to answer what state or country they came from on earth.

"Me? Well, I'm american-born, and my place of residence is Los Angeles, California. I've lived in other states and cities in my life, so it's not my exact home but it is my birthplace and what not'. "

The New World: A Human Migration

Launch Date: May 4th of 2276
    Current Date: Unknown
    Location: Asylum

    Row 1: Red | Purple | Green | Black | White
    Row 2: Blue | Orange | Pink | Yellow | Brown

Scarlet entered the tent in time to hear that the child was to pick her bed first. Breanna looked around excitedly for confirmation, so when everyone allowed her to, she hurried over to the pink bed and looked up. "Can I have this one?!" she asked excitedly, "Pink is my favorite. Is it okay?" Scarlet smiled for the first time and walked over to the green bed. She wasn't going blue or red; she refused. Damien saw the green bed had been taken and looked around. "Did you want this one?" Scarlet asked and he just shook his head. "I'll take this one." Damien went over to the brown bed and sat down. He mimicked Emma and got some of the trail mix to eat up until Raymond talked about getting to know each other. He looked around the room to measure reactions to that idea. Two people introduced themselves and he stayed silent. He had shown little interest in talking up until this point, but he'd take part in this.

"My name is Breanna." the child said, raising her hand as if she were in school, "I'm from London in England. My favorite color is pink. I like strawberries. I had a dog, but he's back on earth... Oh, and I'm allergic to bees really badly." From then on, the room fell silent while Damien and Scarlet stared at each other, wondering which one was going to crack and introduce themselves first. When Scarlet's eyes narrowed, Damien sighed and looked around at everyone. "Not much of a talker, but I'm Damien, from New York, originally Cairo. That's all." "What Cairo?" "Uh... Egypt. A city in Egypt." he explained and then motioned over to Scarlet. "Your turn." "Scarlet. I'm..." she motioned with her head over to Breanna, "From London as well. Uh... Yeah, that's it." Breanna just tilted her head, looking disappointed.

That disappointment was dropped when there was a sudden sound of extremely loud creaking, like metal when it slowly bends. The sound was almost deafening. Breanna covered her ears and both Damien and Scarlet hurried outside. Breanna followed after them. When they got outside, you could see the ship shifting. People began to panic, but Scarlet yelled, "CALM DOWN! Watch." People looked back to the ship and watched as it began falling away from them, many pieces crashing down around it, but nothing really heading in their direction. "See, we're fine." she said. After a moment or two more, the ship fell completely and the ground shook for a few seconds. The people around looked on in horror, some asking questions like, "What about everyone else inside?" "Should we send a search party?" "Who would even go in there?" "Do you think they're all dead?" began going around the camp.
